Abstract
There have been a number of studies of the ultrastructure of articular cartilage, one of the most recent being that by Palfrey and Davies (1966) and the subject has recently been reviewed by Ghadially and Roy (1969). On the other hand there have been relatively few studies on the fine structure of bone, the most recent review being that of Hancox (1972).
