Abstract
A country’s economy is the mechanism by which goods and services of material value are produced and disposed of. In this chapter and the next certain aspects of this mechanism will be considered, namely direction and decision-making, the motivation of the decision makers, the organisation of the economy and, finally, output or product, its disposal, and its relation to demand.
