Abstract

A simple three phase a.c. generator has three separate coils physically spaced 120° apart. Each coil will generate a separate sinusoidal voltage waveform when a permanent magnet is rotated inside the coils. The three waveforms will be separated by 120° electrical on the wave diagram.
