Abstract

In modern literature the science concerned with matters connected with friction is often called ‘Tribology’. The word is derived from the Greek ‘Tribo’ meaning friction and it was first introduced in Australia by Tabor as the title for his studies in the field of friction, lubrication and technology of bearings.
