Abstract
This chapter is in two parts, each with its own summary and exercises. Part One is concerned largely with ideas, with the interaction of a number of related concepts: the limit in all its forms, the derivative and the integral. Part Two starts with applications, and then proceeds to elaborate on the concepts of Part One, develop new definitions of the functions of Chapter 5, and look briefly at Taylor series.
