Contract Organisation

  • Chapter
Municipal Engineering Practice

Abstract

The municipal engineer has to be able to advise on the best type of contract to adopt for a particular job, or whether it is desirable to carry out the work by direct labour. He needs to have a thorough knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract and to be well versed in the preparation of drawings, specifications and often bills of quantities and estimates for municipal engineering work, as well as being able to direct work on site.
