Abstract

Before enquiring into the requirements which a proper control method must satisfy, it is useful first to establish what, in this connexion, is meant by control’. By production planning in the widest sense of the term is meant such management and utilization of the resources available as enables the stipulated purpose to be attained as satisfactorily as possible. This, perhaps, sounds very evident but, all the same, with every form of production control is important to consider what facets are significant.
