Abstract
Mr. Berrill introduced the discussion by suggesting to participants that they should concentrate on the main theme of Professor Rostow’s paper — the concept of leading sectors in take-off. This meant leaving until another day aspects such as population, agriculture, etc., and leaving until Professor Kuznets’ paper the question whether take-off was a distinct stage of growth.
