Abstract

Cross-sectional imaging techniques produce a two-dimensional representation of a section of human anatomy. Further mathematical manipulation of these images can create additional images that may better demonstrate anatomic relationships or make pathology more conspicuous. There is a wide array of techniques that can manipulate medical images in this manner; they are globally referred to as “post-processing.”
