Abstract

This chapter presents the methodology of analyzing the technical and economic efficiency of conversion of conventional coal-fired electric power stations to: (a) cogeneration with and without electric power compensation to the value prior to the adaptation to cogeneration, (b) cogeneration with concurrent repowering with a gas turbine to dual fuel gas-steam combined cycle in parallel system, (c) solely to dual fuel gas-steam combined cycle in a parallel system as a result of their repowering by a gas turbine.
