Abstract
As endurance sports and training continue to be popular, exercise-induced leg and foot pathologies have mandated increased attention from sports physicians – common and uncommon causes should be considered.1,2 One uncommon entity that has gained popularity and is being recognized earlier in the clinical course is chronic compartment syndrome (CCS).3 CCS has been reported in various lower extremity locations with the leg far and away being the most common location.4 This section will review basic though important concepts about CCS as it applies to the leg and foot. Emphasis will be on clinical presentation and management.
