Abstract

This chapter provides general guidelines for designing and developing a migratory application in compliancy with the OPEN technology, describing the various aspects that are involved in the migration process and how they can be addressed by the application developer. The chapter ends presenting an example of a migratory application developed during the course of the OPEN project, which exploits the capabilities of the Migration Service Platform.
