Abstract

In this chapter we will make explicit certain exotic properties of the groups ${\mathrm{SL}}_{2}({{\mathbb{F}}_{\!q}})$ when q=3, 5 or 7. These include exceptional isomorphisms, inclusions as subgroups of ${\mathrm{SL}}_{2}({{\mathbb{F}}_{\!q}})$, and realisations as subgroups of reflection groups.
