Abstract
This chapter presents basic principles of information technology for sustainable development management of Latvian power system. The condition and development tasks of Latvian power system are reviewed. In this chapter, we also offer basic principles of LTS development optimization. The structure of information technology, as well as main module functions and brief characteristics of informative links amongst modules are presented. In this chapter, we analyze functioning module of electrical power plant and functioning module of transmission network. The main parts of functioning module of electrical power plant are (a) energy source model, (b) source operation method and software. The main parts of functioning module of transmission network include: (a) network model for power flow calculation and (b) consumer load (demand) model.
