Abstract

The worm cutter profiling for cylindrical or helical surfaces curl rolling generation represents a problem with the point contact between two surfaces reciprocally enwrapping. In this paper there is proposed an algorithm based on the tangents method and a software, developed in java programming language, based on the discreet representation of the surface to be generated. Applications of this algorithm for simple elementary profiles which may be assembled in compound profiles are presented.
