Abstract
Electrons and light are two of the most important tools we have for learning about the structure of atoms. To use these tools correctly, you need to know how energy and momentum are transferred by objects moving with speeds approaching the speed of light. This means that you need to be able to use some of the ideas of Einstein’s special theory of relativity.
