Obesity and Older Adults: To Lose or Not to Lose???
The prevalence of obesity is increasing across all age cohorts including individuals aged 65 years and older. The purposes of this chapter are to provide an overview of the prevalence of obesity in older individuals, to review the adverse and beneficial health impacts of obesity as we age, and to provide treatment recommendations for obesity among older adults. Three cases using different treatment strategies will be discussed and patient resources will be provided.
