Abstract
The most common indication for an endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) is surveillance for post–heart transplant cellular rejection. Another frequent indication is in idiopathic cardiomyopathies, as a guide for therapy (myocarditis vs. cardiomyopathy) or for prognostic purposes (cardiomyopathy, glycogen storage disease, metabolic disorders).
