Abstract

I turn now to methods of finding planets beyond the Solar System. These are called exoplanets. Of particular interest are habitable exoplanets. In this chapter I shall concentrate on attempts to detect exoplanets by obtaining images. We could then analyze these images to learn about the planet and see whether it is habitable and indeed inhabited, particularly by obtaining the spectrum of the radiation that is either reflected by the planet, or emitted by it.
