This chapter is about topological models for a group G: these are the socalled K(G, 1)-complexes with fundamental group G and contractible universal cover. We then proceed to use the method of Sect.6.1 to replace an arbitrary K(G, 1)-complex by one with fewer cells or lower dimension.
