Miscellaneous Tumors and Tumor-Like Proliferations of the Lung

  • Chapter

Abstract

This chapter discusses endometriosis, tumors, and tumorlike conditions putatively derived from ectopic tissues in the lung. These include thymomas, melanomas, bronchial nevi, meningothelial-like bodies, meningiomas, ependymomas, germ cell tumors (teratomas and choriocarcinomas), and synovial sarcomas. In addition, this chapter discusses other miscellaneous tumors and tumor-like proliferations of the lung such as sclerosing hemangiomas, alveolar and papillary adenomas, inflammatory bronchial polyps, clear cell (sugar) tumors/PEComas, granular cell tumors, paragangliomas and uncommon surface neoplasms of the airways.
