Graphs, Groups, and Dynamical Systems
In this chapter we provide some basic terminology and background on the graph theory, combinatorics, and group theory required throughout the remainder of the book. A basic knowledge of group theory is assumed — a guide to introductory as well as more advanced references on the topics is given at the end of the chapter. We conclude this chapter by providing a short overview of the “classical” continuous and discrete dynamical systems. This overview is not required for what follows, but it may be helpful in order to put SDS theory into context.
