Abstract
1994 represents the tenth anniversary of the introduction of Leadership Through Quality to Rank Xerox. Leadership Through Quality led to a fundamental change in the modus operandi of Rank Xerox. The Rank Xerox Quality journey, documented in the award winning submission to the European Foundation for Quality Management in 1992 is a compelling case study of how to achieve business excellence. As an international company, a joint venture between the Rank Organisation and Xerox Corporation, the company was originally a monopoly. There was a rags to riches rise to fame. Protected by patents, Rank Xerox was one of the fastest growing post war businesses in the sixties and seventies.
