Biologically based epistemology considers consciousness to be a sine qua non of mental acts (Edelman & Tononi, 2000, p. 218).
All the cases that I will discuss in this book represent clinical material that was exposed to intersubjective assessment (by the therapist), as was the case for all the clinical vignettes presented elsewhere (Sanguineti, 1999).
