Modelling and Applications in Mathematics Education

Part of the book series: New ICMI Study Series ((NISS,volume 10))

Abstract

There is much reported research on experiences of learners of mathematical modelling and applications. In this paper we discuss contextual frameworks for such learning and associated teaching together with developmental research concerned with establishing a widely applicable mathematical modelling continuum.
