Using the Suretac Technique for Arthroscopic Treatment of Anterior Instability

  • Chapter
Shoulder Arthroscopy

Abstract

Arthroscopic repair has become an increasingly recognized option in treating posttraumatic anterior instability. With the development of a bioabsorbable “tack” device in the early 1990s (Suretac, Smith & Nephew Dyonics, Mansfield, MA), an alternative to the use of metallic staples or transglenoid repair became available. This simpler and more effective implant has become a mainstay for arthroscopic repair in the hands of some surgeons.
