Abstract
Posterior glenohumeral instability is a relatively uncommon problem in comparison to anterior instability. Yet it remains an important condition that is arthroscopically treatable. Posterior instability can be unidirectional, or it may be the predominant symptomatic direction of multidirectional instability. Unidirectional posterior instability is more often the result of trauma. Conversely, multidirectional instability may include a posterior and inferior component and is more often due to repetitive overuse, such as in repetitive overhead athletics, or associated with generalized laxity.
