Abstract
Chapter 2 discussed how the energy dynamic between our human ancestors and their environmental circumstances has endowed us with multiple redundant physiological mechanisms to ensure us sufficient energy balance for survival and reproduction. We also saw how, as a result, the system of weight and energy regulation is three-way asymmetrical—in energy input, expenditure, and storage.
