Human Genetics and HIV-1 Infection

  • Chapter
AIDS in Asia

Abstract

Even before the human genome was sequenced, there has been increasing evidence that human genetics influences infectious diseases. This review will discuss the key role of a number of genetic factors that have been shown to exert such influence, particularly in the context of HIV/AIDS.
