Abstract
Theodore Zeldin was born in 1933, and graduated from London University in Philosophy, Latin and History, and from Oxford in Modern History. He then embarked on a doctorate at the newly founded St Antony’s College, Oxford; of which he was a Fellow from 1957 to 2001; he helped to build it up as the university’s postgraduate centre for international studies, simultaneously holding four offices – Senior Tutor, Dean, Tutor for Admissions and Dean of Degrees – for 13 years. At the same time he was a University Lecturer, tutored undergraduates as a Lecturer of Christ Church, and wrote the books listed below.
