Abstract

This paper concerns with two main issues — knowledge acquisition(KA) in image analysis and the integration of knowledge representation and hypermedia tools. A specialised Knowledge Acquisition Tool (KATool) to support intelligent vision systems is described. The specific functionality of KATool user interface is provided by the state-of-the-art hypermedia browser MOSAIC. The KATool structure and the interactions with other tools in our knowledge-based environment are described. The architecture and knowledge representation schema of KATool are presented, taking into consideration the results from two different application tasks in which knowledge acquisition interface was used.

This work was supported in part by a grant from the Bulgarian National Fund for Scientific Research MU/IS 1 /1994 and COST grant CIPA3510CT921317.
