Abstract

The background of this paper is the method of crest lines detection by valleys spreading developed in [9] and using pretopological tools. We improve that method in order to obtain an algorithm which simultaneously searches for crest and edge lines, while allowing their discrimination. We also present a multiresolutional approach of this method, as a way of extracting the global network of image crest lines.
