Abstract

Early ideas, developments and investigations regarding Parallel Computing (or Parallel Processing) in Europe are enumerated without a claim for completeness. Beyond it the term ’ early’ is according to a subjective rating limited to activities till the end of the seventieth. Recent developments like the Transputer — Technology, Industrial — Production lines like Convex, Parsytech etc. are not considered in this contribution.
