Abstract

A prototype system to display diagnostic ECG data across an ISDN connection has been developed in association with a cardiology consultant and general practitioner. It is anticipated that this will offer full 12 lead diagnostic display and will undergo field trials after some further development. A Heterogeneous integrated Multi-media Medical System (HIMMS) is being designed to provide a common patient database along with knowledge based diagnostic and multimedia training tools.
