Abstract

We propose an action for the null string, where space-time conformal invariance is manifest, discuss it's gauge symmetries, and study the quantization of this model using covariant techniques. The presence of a BRST anomaly for every space-time dimensionality confirms previously noted problems of preserving space-time conformal symmetry of the null string in the quantum theory.
