Abstract

In this paper, a CDMA cellular system is considered. An analysis of the performance is presented for the base-to-mobile link, along with a method to optimize the power control law. The performance of the system is evaluated in terms of both probability of error and system utilization (i.e., the number of admitted users per cell divided by the spreading factor). A comparison with some results which recently have appeared in the literature is also presented.
