Abstract

Absolute doubly differential electron emission cross sections for H0 (0.5MeV/1.0MeV)→He collisions have been measured non-coincidently and in coincidence with the outgoing H+. A comparison is given between the coincident and non-coincident cross sections for H0 and H+ impact and PWBA-calculations of the DDCS for electron emission. It is shown that the contribution of simultaneous projectile and target ionizations to the coincident electron emission cross sections is very important. There is some evidence that a great part of these simultaneous ionizations can be explained by uncorrelated simultaneous projectile and target ionizations.
