Abstract

A brief introduction to the rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars and a review of their properties is presented. Evidence which strongly suggests that the roAp stars pulsate obliquely in high-overtone, low-degree modes is shown. This review then concentrates on four problems of particular interest to asteroseismologists: 1) The interpretation of the solar-like amplitude spectrum of HR 1217; 2) Mode lifetimes in roAp stars; 3) The nature of the harmonics in HR 3831; and 4) Evolutionary period changes in roAp stars.
