Abstract
In this communication, we present a special Computer Assisted Learning environment for the HyperCard development tool. We create a dedicated version of a benchmark courseware, which has already been previously developped under other authoring systems in order to compare HyperCard facilities for CAL. On the strength of this first experience, we have designed a programming environment adapted to the particular nature of CAL problems, in order to develop educational stackwares. This environment tries to provide CAL functions which are missing such as response analysis or automatic student recording. Two further advantages are both the simplification of the HyperTalk learning process and the improvement of productivity by reducing the development time.
