Abstract
In this chapter we investigate expression motion for an arbitrary but fixed expression pattern ϕ. In particular, we recall busy and lazy expression motion as introduced in [KRS94a] which are of major importance due to their role as the basic components for the multiple-expression approaches presented later. Throughout this chapter Figure 3.1 serves as a running example, as it is complex enough to illustrate the essential features of our approach.
