Abstract

We describe an implemented approach to text and sentence planning in a system for automatic generation of instruction texts. The approach aims at planning good quality texts through maximising coherence and cohesion.

The work reported here was carried out in the context of the AGILE project, supported by the European Commission within the COPERNICUS programme, grant No. PL961104. We would like to thank John Bateman for an extensive discussion.
