Abstract

All over the world many researchers are working on the improvement of the learning of algebra with the help of the computer. Activities have various forms including design and development of innovative software, experiments with innovative software like computer algebra systems, reflection about the nature of the algebra to be taught, and theories of algebra learning. These researchers belong to different disciplines, in particular maths education, psychology, and computer science. They do not usually participate in the same conferences and so unfortunately miss the opportunity for collaborative discussions toward their common goals of improving the learning of algebra.
