Stream Ciphers

Abstract

The object of this talk is to give a general introduction to stream ciphers. It will provide the general background for the other four talks on this topic. We begin giving a diagramiatic definition of a stream cipher:

(Of course the interceptor is not part of the system. He is included in the diagram merely to indicate where interceptions are likely to take place.)
