Abstract
Long before M.C. Escher’s art became popular, Cornelius v.S. Roosevelt began collecting it. His collection of prints, obtained directly from Escher in the 1950s and 60s, grew to include articles and books about Escher, correspondence with and about Escher, and Escher ephemera, from authorized (and pirated) reproductions of Escher’s prints to gaudy pop items.
