Zusammenfassung
Pflegepersonal gilt europaweit als besonders körperlich und psychisch belastet. Aufgrund von Analysen der europäischen NEXT-Studie (www.next-study.net, n = 39898) wird gezeigt, dass in 10 untersuchten europäischen Ländern z. T. erhebliche Unterschiede in Bezug auf strukturelle Voraussetzungen der Pflegearbeit vorliegen. Für examiniertes Pflegepersonal in Krankenhäusern (n = 26007) wurden Schlüsselindikatoren zum Arbeitsinhalt, sozialen Arbeitsumfeld, zu Aspekten der Arbeitsorganisation sowie zu relevanten Auswirkungen untersucht. Die Werte des deutschen Kollektivs (16 Krankenhäuser, n = 2524) lagen bei den meisten Indikatoren vergleichsweise ungünstig, insbesondere in Bezug auf Quantitative Arbeitsanforderungen und die Zufriedenheit mit den Arbeitszeiten. Deutlich negative Abweichungen fanden sich hierzulande auch für die mittels work ability index (WAI) erfasste Arbeitsfähigkeit sowie die häufigere Absicht, den Pflegeberuf zu verlassen. Die Autoren schlussfolgern, dass in Deutschland akuter Handlungsbedarf zur Verbesserung der Arbeitsbedingungen bei Pflegepersonal besteht. Langfristig wird ein Mangel an Fachpflegekräften den Arbeitsmarkt dominieren. Dann wird der Pflegeberuf eine attraktive Alternative zu anderen Berufen darstellen müssen.
