Abstract
We discuss the energy contribution of small high-velocity events observed in the solar transition region to atmospheric heating. These events do not directly provide enough energy to heat the atmosphere, but are instead after-products of turbulent energy dissipation at the sites of the actual primary nonthermal heating process.
