Part of the Springer Tracts in Modern Physics book series (STMP, volume 137)

In this book we have reviewed our present-day understanding of the Mott transition as a genuine correlation effect. We used exact and approximate treatments of model Hamiltonians to support our basic concepts on the canonical phase diagram. We summarize our results in this last chapter.
