Abstract
The orthonormal MIR is extended to calculate wake flow problems. Previous difficulties are overcome by a simple linear transformation of the U-domain. An iterative scheme is devised to enable determination of unique orthonormal weighting functions. No matrix inversion is required to solve the resulting ODE's. Results are obtained for N up to 4 with relative ease. Furthermore, turbulence can easily be incorporated in the present formulation. The potential of extending the present scheme to separated flows is under study.
