Abstract
Model calculations have been done within the unrestricted Hartree-Fock scheme on the structure of intrinsic defects in a finite spin density wave chain with one electron per site, including only on-site interactions. Results are given for the spin and charge distributions of spin density wave defects of the types neutral soliton, charged soliton and polaron.
