Abstract

The low field (“linear”) conductivity in a Peierls state of orthorhombic TaS3 was found to be strongly dependent on uniaxial strain S along the chain direction, increasing linearly against S at low deformations with a subsequent abrupt fall at large S. The origin of such a behavior is discussed.
